How Much Do Replacement Windows Cost in North Georgia?
Compare materials, installation methods and whole-home costs.
LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROJECTReal pricing. Clear expectations. Thoughtful remodeling for the way you live.
Window pricing is confusing on purpose. Some companies advertise a low per-window price that only applies to the smallest size, then add for installation, trim, grids and disposal. Others won't say a number until you've sat through a three-hour presentation.
There's another problem most homeowners don't notice until later: most window companies sell one material and one installation method. Whatever your home needs, that's the window you'll be offered. EXOVATIONS offers four window materials and several installation methods, so we can match the window to your home, your style and your budget instead of the other way around.

What drives the cost of replacement windows?
- The window material. Standard vinyl, cellular PVC, aluminum-clad with a vinyl interior and aluminum-clad with a wood interior each have a different look, lifespan and price.
- Size, style and shape. Double-hungs and sliders are the most economical. Casements, picture windows, bays, bows and arched or custom shapes cost more.
- Glass package. Low-E coatings, argon gas and triple-pane glass improve comfort and energy efficiency in Georgia summers, and each step adds cost.
- Installation method. A sash kit replaces only the moving sashes and keeps your existing frame and trim. An insert replacement fits a complete new window inside your existing frame. A full-frame replacement removes the old window down to the rough opening, which costs more but lets us fix hidden rot and air leaks. The right method depends on your home, not on what a company happens to sell.
- The trim around the window. Exterior trim, interior trim repair and any rotten sills or framing are often where quotes differ most.
Four window materials, one company
| Window type | What it is | Installed price per window | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard vinyl | Solid vinyl frame, white or a limited color range | $580-$775 | Lowest cost; rentals, basements and budget-focused projects |
| Cellular PVC Full Frame | A dense, paintable PVC frame with crisp profiles that looks just like a traditional wood window | $1,025-$1,550 | Homeowners who want the look of wood without rot or repainting |
| Cellular PVC sash kit | New cellular PVC sashes and jamb liners installed in your existing frame; your interior and exterior trim stay in place | $730-$1,230 | Homes with sound frames that want to keep original trim and sight lines |
| Aluminum-clad exterior, vinyl interior | A durable, factory-finished aluminum exterior in many colors over a low-maintenance vinyl interior | $1,520-$1,765 | Dark or bold exterior colors with an easy-care interior |
| Aluminum-clad exterior, wood interior | Factory-finished aluminum outside, real wood inside that can be stained or painted | $1,775-$1,925 | Higher-end and historic homes that want real wood inside |
Prices assume standard sizes with insert (pocket) installation unless otherwise noted, and include exterior trim, removal and disposal of old windows, and cleanup.
Standard vinyl windows
Vinyl is the most affordable replacement window and a sound choice when budget comes first. It never needs painting and seals well. The trade-offs are wider frames, fewer color choices and a look that reads as "replacement window" on more traditional homes.
Cellular PVC windows
Cellular PVC is a denser, more rigid material than standard vinyl. It can be milled with sharp, traditional profiles and painted, so from the curb it looks just like a classic wood window. It won't rot, swell or attract termites, which makes it a strong fit for Georgia's humidity.
Aluminum-clad windows with a vinyl interior
An aluminum exterior with a baked-on factory finish stands up to sun and weather and comes in far more colors than vinyl, including black and bronze. The vinyl interior keeps maintenance low inside the house.
Aluminum-clad windows with a wood interior
This is the premium option. You get the weather resistance and color choice of an aluminum exterior with the warmth of real wood inside, ready to stain or paint to match your trim. It's the closest match for high-end and historic homes.
Installation methods that fit any home
Because we're not locked into one product or one method, we choose the installation that suits your house:
- Sash kit replacement. We keep your existing window frame and trim, inside and out, and replace only the sashes (the parts that hold the glass and open) along with new jamb liners. It's the least disruptive option, keeps the most glass area, and preserves original trim and sight lines, which makes it ideal for older and historic homes with wood windows. The existing frame must be solid, square and free of rot. EXOVATIONS offers sash kits in cellular PVC and aluminum-clad windows.
- Insert (pocket) replacement. The new window fits inside the existing frame. It's faster and less disruptive, and works well when the old frame is sound.
- Full-frame replacement. The old window comes out down to the rough opening. It costs more, but it lets us repair rot, re-flash the opening and fit a window that matches the original sight lines.
- Replacement with new siding. If you're also replacing siding, we install windows and siding together so the flashing, trim and siding work as one weather barrier.
Whole-house window replacement
Most homes we work on have 15-20 windows. A whole-house replacement typically runs:
| Window type | Whole-house range (15-20 windows) |
|---|---|
| Standard vinyl | $10,500-$14,000 |
| Cellular PVC Full Frame | $18,375-$24,500 |
| Cellular PVC sash kit | $14,625-$19,500 |
| Aluminum-clad, vinyl interior | $24,750-$33,000 |
| Aluminum-clad, wood interior | $27,675-$36,900 |
Replacing all windows at once usually lowers the per-window price compared with doing them a few at a time.
Patio doors and specialty windows
| Item | Typical installed cost |
|---|---|
| Sliding patio door | $3,500-$5,275 |
| Hinged (French) patio door | $3,525-$5,125 |
| Arched, round or custom shape | $2,500-$11,250 each |
| Aluminum-clad sash kit | $975-$1,175 per window |
Costs that are often left out of a window quote
- Rotten sills and framing. Common around older Georgia windows. We inspect and price repairs before you sign whenever we can see them.
- Lead-safe work. Homes built before 1978 likely have lead paint around windows. Federal rules require lead-safe practices, and EXOVATIONS is an EPA lead-safe certified firm.
- Interior trim and paint touch-up. Ask whether interior trim is reused, replaced or left for you to finish.
- Grids, colors and hardware. Exterior colors, grid patterns and upgraded locks are often priced separately.
Why window quotes vary so much
- One product for every house. A company that sells only vinyl will recommend vinyl, even on a home that calls for a wood look or a dark exterior color. Ask what other materials the bidder offers.
- "Starting at" pricing. An advertised price often covers only one small size in one color. Ask for the price of your actual windows.
- Installation details. Flashing, insulation around the frame and how trim is sealed decide whether a window stays watertight for 20 years. A cheap install of a good window still leaks.
- Warranty coverage. Some warranties cover glass and frame but not labor. Ask who pays for labor if a seal fails in year eight.
- Pressure tactics. A "today only" discount is a sales tactic, not a price. Take the time you need to compare quotes.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to replace one window in Atlanta?
A single standard-size replacement window from EXOVATIONS typically costs $580-$775 installed in standard vinyl, and up to $1,925 in aluminum-clad wood. Small orders cost more per window than whole-house projects because setup costs are spread over fewer units.
What's the difference between vinyl and cellular PVC windows?
Both are low-maintenance and won't rot. Cellular PVC is denser and more rigid, so it can be shaped with traditional, wood-like profiles and painted. Standard vinyl costs less but has wider, plainer frames and fewer colors.
Are aluminum-clad windows worth the extra cost?
If you want a dark or custom exterior color, or you're matching a higher-end home, usually yes. The factory-finished aluminum exterior holds its color and resists weather, and the wood-interior version gives you real wood inside.
What is a sash kit replacement?
A sash kit replaces the moving parts of a window, the sashes and the tracks they slide in, while keeping the existing frame and trim. It costs less than a full-frame replacement, takes less time, and leaves your interior and exterior trim untouched. EXOVATIONS offers sash kits in cellular PVC and aluminum-clad windows. A sash kit works when the existing frame is in good condition; if the frame is rotted, an insert or full-frame replacement is the better choice.
Are replacement windows worth it in Georgia?
New Low-E windows reduce heat gain in summer, cut drafts, block UV fading and make a home quieter. Energy savings alone rarely pay back the cost quickly, so most homeowners replace windows for comfort, appearance, rot repair and resale.
How long does window replacement take?
Windows are custom-made, so expect 4-5 weeks for manufacturing, depending on the window type. Installation for a typical home takes 2-3 days.
Should I replace windows and siding at the same time?
If both are due within a few years, doing them together usually saves money and gives the best weather seal, because the trim and flashing around each window can be integrated with the new siding.
Do you publish a price list?
No. Every house has different sizes, styles and conditions. These ranges are here so you can plan, and you'll get an exact, itemized price at your consultation, before you sign anything.
