Located in a quiet setting on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia is a beautiful home that just received a facelift. Built in the 1950's, this four-sided brick home was begging for a new modern look.
The Home Remodeling Process
Our sales consultant met with this homeowner in June of 2011 to discuss plans for this much desired facelift. The homeowner mentioned that her home had received two renovations in the past and the homeowner had already met with an Architect but after hearing an ad on Atlanta's WSB-AM 750 for our company and the "EXOVISION" service that we offer, she decided to call in and see what we were about.
One of the homeowner's main concerns was that the front door was offset on the left end of the porch and faced the porch, rather than the street. It's a little hard to see, but it is near the flag in the photo above. The porch stairs were centered on the picture window, which seemed a little awkward, and since there was only a small overhang where the door and windows are, guests weren't well protected from rain.
EXOVISION
The homeowner wanted an entrance that was warmer and more inviting, so our design consultant created a charming porch and entry that makes the front door the focal point of their home. The ExoVision drawing helped the homeowner visualize how the new look would balance the features of the home's front facade, increase interior living space, and add a covered porch for more outdoor space.

Architectural drawings helped the homeowners visualize the transformation before committing to the project.
Design Becomes Reality
The design concept was accepted by the homeowners and plans were made to start the project. The plan included demolishing the rear and side walls of the small existing porch, bringing the wall out approximately 4'8″ so that it is flush with front elevation of the home, providing an additional new entry are in the home's interior.
New double entry doors were centered on the front wall, and fiber cement shake siding was added on the exterior. The new front porch features a metal bay top, fiber cement shake siding in the gable, square PVC columns and wrought iron railings. Flagstone was added on the surface of the porch and stairs. New shutters and windows complete the transformation and add even more value to this renovation. The new look took exactly one month to complete, and the end result is absolutely stunning.
